Joy Ebertz

Software Engineer, Writer, Speaker, and Runner

Joy Ebertz

Hello! I'm Joy Ebertz.

I've been working in software ever since I decided I liked my CS classes better than my math classes in college. I'm currently a Principal Software Engineer at Imprint. I've worked at a number of places over the years including Microsoft, a tiny startup, Box, and Split. While I've done a bit of full stack work and even management, my true passion is working as a backend individual contributor. I like software specifically because I like building things but also because I like helping people and software is a great way to do that.

I created this website as a place to share my writing, speaking, and other work, as well as a few of my hobbies. I have also been using it as a project to familiarize myself with some of the latest AI tools.

Outside of work, I spend most of my time running (mostly trails), reading, traveling, or baking. The pictures on this site are all taken on my runs this summer around Lake Tahoe in California.
